The Alps is a play ground for both young and old. Besides the walking, skiing, mountain biking and paragliding there are a whole host of other things to do, including:-

CLIMBING
Try the local Via Ferrata’s, both are only five minutes drive away. A Via Ferrata is a prepared climb, which has a secure cable attached to the mountain with hand and foot holds cast in on the difficult parts. Harnesses and helmets can be hired locally for about €15 a day. There is no access restriction and people use at their own risk however if required a local guide can be booked.

WHITE WATER RAFTING

30 minutes drive away down the valley is the river Dranse, this offers the exciting activities of White water rafting, Hot dogging and hydro speeding.  Isabelle has lots of experience with all the water based activities and can advise on what is available to suit your requirements.

CANYONING

Canyoning at Morzine is a must, you descend the canyon in a number of stages which include slides, jumps and abseils, you eventually finish by abseiling down a water fall into a pool. I’ve tried it a few times and will definitely be doing it again!!

AERIAL ADVENTURE PARKS
Point Sud, amongst others, is located in Champoussin, Switzerland about 30mins drive away. Its an aerial adventure park built in the trees consisting of kids and adults areas. Full safety equipment and instruction is given prior to starting, and if you do the full course allow about 3 hours.

THE FANTASTICABLE
The fantasticable is a high level wire strung over the valley, above Pre le Joux, you descend in a type of paragliding harness, great fun and not as scary as it looks.

RELAXATION AND SWIMMING POOLS
There is an open air swimming pool in the village which is great fun for the kids, however there are two thermal baths within 30-40 minutes drive, namely Lavey les Bain and Val d’Illiez. Lavey has saunas, Jacuzzis, steam room, light and sound rooms and is a great relaxing place to go. Val d’Illiez is closer, smaller but has a spectacular mountain setting. Both Spa’s will allow children, but why spoil the pleasure?? Both spa’s are open all year.

AQUA PARK
The Aqua park at Bouveret, is about 40 minutes drive from Chatel on the shore of Lake Leman, this has wave pools, slides, pirate ship, lazy river and much more, its open all year and is a great place to take the kids.

There are a whole host of other attractions in the local area, far to long to write here, just ask we'll happily discuss the possibilities.
